7800 Beverly Boulevard (at Fairfax),
Los Angeles, CA. / (323) 575-2458 (live)
or (323) 575-2449 ('Price is Right' recorded hotline)

The giant CBS Television City studio is located right next to Farmers MarketThe Grove in Hollywood.

"The Price is Right" with Bob Barker taped here for years. (And the show continues with new host Drew Carey.) So have the soap operas "The Young & the Restless" and "The Bold & The Beautiful", and Craig Ferguson's "Late Late Show."

In recent years, several other popular game shows were taped here live in recent years (including "Hollywood Squares",  and "The Match Game"), as well as the Roseanne Show, HBO's "Dennis Miller Live!" and "Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher"- plus the occasional sitcom.

This is the studio where they taped the classic "Carol Burnett Show," "The Sonny & Cher Show" and many others. The classic sitcomes "All in the Family" and "Good TImes" were also taped here.

Many of these shows use live studio audiences, and the tickets to these tapings are given away for free, on a first-come-first-served basis. (There are no tickets available for the soap operas.)

You can pick up free tickets for live tapings of CBS TV shows at their ticket window, on the west side of CBS TV City (facing Fairfax). This ticket window is open 5 days a week (and sometimes on weekends if they're taping a show), from 9 AM to 5 PM.

If you just want to see a TV show being taped , and you aren't particular about which TV show it is, you can just walk up to their ticket window and pick up tickets right then and there to a number of tapings. But if you have your heart set on a special show - particularly if it is a popular one - then it is wise to write first, requesting tickets for a later date.

For tickets by mail to CBS shows, send a self-addressed stamp envelope to:

    CBS TICKETS

Most show-tapings have age limits, and most will not admit children. Age limits vary according to which show is being taped (from 13 to 18). All age limits are printed on the front of the ticket.

A ticket does not guarantee admittance to the studio; seating is on a first-come-first-serve basis (to those with tickets).

(For information about the game shows taped at CBS TV City, see the separate pages about becoming a contestant on a game show..)

Tickets to the tapings of all CBS TV shows are free.

Parking: Handicapped parking is available in the large parking lots surrounding the studio; other visitors can park in the large paid lots at The Grove, next door.

Hours: Daily: 9 AM - 5 PM.

Getting there: CBS TV City is located just north of Farmer's Market, at the southeast corner of Fairfax Avenue and Beverly Blvd. / From Hollywood and Vine, take Vine Street south (almost two miles) to Beverly Boulevard. Turn right (west) on Beverly, and go west (about two miles) to the corner of Beverly and Fairfax. The studio will be on your left (south) side.
