The
location: The Frat Party. |
![]() A. A kegger
party at a frat house.
Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show? A. Somewhere
in Miami, Florida.
Q. When did we see it on the show? A. In Episode 2 of of Season 3 - "Finding Freebo".
Dexter goes to Teegan's former address, after dark, only to find himself in the middle of a rather wild frat party. We see him pull up in his car, then see him wandering through the party, which is filled with drunken college students (a few of whom are naked). Dexter heads
upstairs, where he encounters two drunken party girls who are interested
in scoring drugs. He asks about Teegan and they call her a "ho",
and tell him that she's now living off-campus. They basically offer to trade sex for the drugs they want. Dexter pretends he has "a bag in the car", and tells them he'll give them what they want if they'll just tell him Teegan's new address. One of the girls looks up the info on her phone, and tells him Teegan's new address is 22 Lincoln Lane. Dexter promises
to return with the stuff, but simply goes back to his car and leaves, heading
for a rendezvous with Rita.
Q. What is it actually in real life? A. A residential
home.
Q. Where can I find it in real life? A. This location is far from Dexter's usual filming spots. You'll find the 7-bedroom home in Hancock Park, at 112 N. June Street, Los Angeles. That's on the east side of the street, south of Beverly Blvd and just north of 1st Street. When we see
Dexter driving up to the house, he is heading south on June Street. Here
is an aerial
photo of the house. And here is a map
link. Here is a Google StreetView of the house:

Warning: This is a private home. Do not
knock on their door, trespass on their property,
Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was? A. The Dexter crew tends to stick to the same basic areas: Long Beach, San Pedro, Marina Del Rey, Hollywood. But it seems
like every season, there's at least one instance where they abruptly opt
to shoot somewhere else, and (as you might expect) that always causes me
problems. In this third season, for instance, they headed out to Downey,
of all places, to shoot a number of scenes, including that golf
driving range. But they didn't stop there. They also went to Hancock Park for this house. I didn't see that coming. With all the large homes available in Long Beach's Country Club neighborhood (and other parts of that town), I wouldn't have expected them to go to Hancock Park for a single house. But it appears to have been part of a "cluster shoot" in the area, which included the park swings dream sequence, from the same episode, as well as the scene of a body found on a lawn, and a home where Rita & Syl were house-hunting. So that probably explains it. Fortunately,
in 2010, a fan, Geoff, who used to
spend time in Hancock Park, was able to pinpoint it. (Thanks,
Geoff!)
