Q.
What is it supposed to be on the show?
A. A bank parking lot.
Q.
Where is it supposed to be on the show?
A. Somewhere in Michigan.

Q. When did we see it on the show?
A. In Episode 2 of Season One of Resurrection.
In this scene, we see Keith, otherwise known as
The Canton Clubber (for reasons that will become apparent) at a
Michigan Savings Bank ATM, trying to withdraw cash. But he is surprised
to see his account balance at zero. Just then, Charley (Uma Thurman)
appears, and intimidates Keith into taking a walk with her
outside.
We don't know it yet in this scene, but Charley is the enforcer
and bodyguard for billionaire Leon Prater, and she's here to deliver
bad news to Keith, who is being kicked out of Prater's little group.
As they walk out into the parking lot towards her car, he tells her that
he is glad that the big guy agreed to his little ask, and says that
money is tight right now and another $100,000 will come in very handy.
But Charley tells him that he's not going to
get a dime, that he knew the rules were that you couldn't ask or demand
anything from Prater, and that he is now being totally cut off and is to
never make contact with them again.
Keith, who has apparently become accustomed
to receiving large amounts of cash from the billionaire, is shocked, and
soon starts making veiled threats about going to the police.
When he mentions selling his trophies to
Prater, Charley reaches into her car and pulls out a baseball bat
studded with sharp nails, apparently the brutal instrument that gave the
Canton Clubber his nickname.
Keith is shocked to realize that she has broken into his house, and discovered his weapons stash.
When he makes one threat too many, Charley swings that nail-studded bat, and the scene ends abruptly.
Q. What is it actually in real life?
A. A bank parking lot. Just not in Michigan.
Q.
Where can I find it in real life?
A. To find
this location, you are going to have to go all the way back to the
small town where they filmed the Iron Lake scenes in Episode 1: the town
of Sparkill, in upstate New York.
And once you get there, you're going to have to know where to look, because it's not obvious.
Yes, it is a bank parking lot. Or more accurately, it was a
bank parking lot. And yes, there used to be an ATM there. But the
Chase bank that used to be at this location closed around 2019, and as
of 2025, it's now just a temporarily vacant brick building.
So don't bother looking for a bank.
To make matters more difficult, they shot the
scene from back in the far end of the parking lot, with the camera
looking back the other way, so you can't get the same view from Main
St. passing by. And the pale wood fence, which you can see behind
Charley in the scene, also isn't very visible from the street.
And what at first appears to be a house with two peaks (turrets) on top
(in the background), turns out to be two different houses (albeit
virtually identical ones), sitting side by side, with a single turret
each, in front.
But on the positive side, if you're a Dexter tourist who is visiting Sparkill and decided to have lunch at the Noble Cafe
(where Angel Batista spoke with the deputy Teddy about Dexter), you
won't have far to go. In fact, the bank is right next door to that cafe.
This former Chase bank building is located at 637 Main St, In Sparkill, NY.
The building is literally right next door to (south of) the building that houses the Noble Cafι.
The parking lot where they shot this scene is to the right
(south) of the bank building (when you are facing the front of the bank
from Main Street).
The pale wood fence that Uma Thurman is near while she talks to
The Canton Clubber. is on the right rear (southHow much time it is ) side of that
parking lot.
During the scenes where you can see what looks like a house with twin
turrets, the camera is shooting from the rear area of the bank, looking southwest towards those twin peaks.
The twin turrets seen in the background are just to the right of the
bank (when seen from Main St) and are two very similar houses, both of
which have a turret topped by a weathervane, at 631 and 635 Main St.
To reach the point where they shot the
scene, just drive or walk into the parking lot between the former bank and those two
houses. As you do, the bank (with its brick wall and familiar windows) that can
be seen in the scene will be on your left side, and as you go a few yards into the parking lot, the fence (near where Charley was parked) will be on your right side.
( Note that the size and positions of the windows on the side of the
brick bank building match what we see in the scene as Charlie &
Keith walk away from the ATM. )
They shot a number of Iron Lake scenes here in Sparkill NY, including the hospital where Dexter recovers, the two shots of him driving out of Iron Lake, the store where Dexter stops to buy new clothes on his way out of town, and the diner where Batista talks to Teddy. And now, this Michigan Savings Bank...

Here is a matching StreetView from the parking lot
looking southwest towards the twin peaks:

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?
A. This is one of the locations I received as a tip from Ben.
When I first watched this scene, it was obvious that they had shot it in
a semi-rural, mostly residential area, not in the big city.
But otherwise there wasn't much to go on. Charley and Keith were
walking in a parking lot, supposedly outside a bank with an ATM, and in the
background I could see what appeared to be a
large home with 2 peaks on top. But there were no street signs visible, and
there weren't any distinguishing clues to point me in any particular
direction.
At first, I thought it might be somewhere in Yonkers, one place they
shot in frequently that is at least more rural than NYC. But a quick search there turned up nothing.
I considered that they might have shot it
back in Sparkill early on while they were still there, but given that they had already
moved the action to New York City, it seemed less likely.
Since it was a rather isolated scene, I decided to put my hunt for it on
hold until I had dealt with the other locations, then I would get back
to it.
But Ben beat me to it, and before I even started working on the 9th episode location pages, he sent me this one.
Thanks Ben!
