Part 3

The Actual Southern California Locations
where the 2000 classic
"Memento" was filmed.

After abandoning Teddy at the isolated place, Leonard stops at Emma's Tattoo Parlor,
to have one of his reminders tattooed on his arm.

Later, Teddy finds him there, getting tattooed, see's that he's still driving Jimmy's car,
and warns him. Leonard evades him by going out the back.

They shot this scene in an empty storefront at 8117 Foothill Blvd,  in a strip mall
at the corner of Foothill & Mather Ave, in Sunland, CA.

(It's right across the street from the trailer park.)

Near the end of the film, we wind up back at the beginning, at that isolated place where Leonard killed Jimmy.
We finally learn the truth: what Teddy told Leonard about his true history, and how it set into motion
Leonard's eventual murder of Teddy, back at this same isolated spot.

The scene was, of course, filmed at the former Fletcher Oil Refinery, at 24721 S. Main Street, in CarsonCA

In the last scene of the film, we see Leonard out driving, and thinking about life.
Suddenly, he spots a tattoo parlor and pulls over to the curb in front of it.

This driving scene was filmed while heading east on Victory Blvd in Burbank, passing Providencia Ave.

The Winchell's Donuts you see in the photo above is at 600 S. Victory Blvd, Burbank, CA.

In the B&W flashbacks, as Leonard tells his story to someone on the phone, we see glimpses of
the house of Sammy Jenkins, the amnesia patient whom Leonard had been investigating
for his insurance company. Leonard tells the story of how Sammy's wife tested Sammy's
similar memory condition by asking him to give her a fatal dose of insulin.

This house is actually at 2397 Highland Ave, in Altadena, CA.

(The city of Altadena is just north of Pasadena, California.)

[ Warning: This is a private home.  Do not trespass on their property,
knock on their door, or so anything else that might disturb the residents.]

During flashbacks, we also see glimpses of the home that Leonard and his wife
used to share, before her murder.

This house is at 2379 Highland Ave, in Altadena, CA.

It's right next door to Sammy Jenkins' house.

[ Warning: This is a private home.  Do not trespass on their property,
knock on their door, or so anything else that might disturb the residents.]
