Pokemania Takes Over Westwood:
Pikachu and Live Music by Dream Street, Youngstown and More, to Celebrate
U.S. Premiere of Kids WB! Presents ``Pokemon the Movie 2000''
Kel Mitchell of Nickelodeon's "All That" to Host
WHO: Everyone's favorite Pokemon, PIKACHU, will lead the festivities
along with pop bands DREAM STREET, YOUNGSTOWN, NOBODY'S ANGEL, and teen
singing sensation ALYSHA; the movie's American director, MICHAEL HAIGNEY,
American producer, NORMAN J. GROSSFELD; plus celebrity guests, including
DAVID GALLAGHER and KEL MITCHELL, and three of the most brightly decorated
special Pikachu ``beetle'' cars you've ever seen -- on display.
WHAT: The U.S. Premiere of "Pokemon The Movie 2000," the
second big-screen animated adventure based on the hit TV series and video
game. This time, Pokemon trainer Ash Ketchum and his friends face their
greatest challenge ever...saving the world.
A half-hour before the screening, guests will be treated to a live stage
show hosted by Kel Mitchell (``All That'') and featuring some of the film's
soundtrack artists performing songs written especially for ``Pokemon the
Movie 2000.'' Pop bands Youngstown and Nobody's Angel will collaborate
on ``Pokemon World,'' rising star Alysha will perform ``Dreams,'' and Teen
band Dream Street will sing ``They Don't Understand.''
Highlights from the show will be filmed for inclusion in ``The Power
of One: The Pokemon 2000 Movie Special,`` airing July 16 at 8:00 p.m. on
The WB.
David Gallagher (``7th Heaven'') will then introduce some real-life
hero kids who have truly demonstrated the film's message, ``the power of
one,'' by personally making a difference in their own communities.
