Universal Pictures Hosts the West Coast Premiere of Jersey Films' 'Man
on the Moon,' Starring Jim Carrey, on Monday, December 20
to Benefit Comic Relief and Artists Rights Foundation
WHAT: The West Coast Premiere of Universal Pictures' and Jersey
Pictures' ``Man on the Moon,'' to benefit Comic Relief and
Artists Rights Foundation. Academy Award(TM)-winning director
Milos Forman and Golden Globe-winning scribes Scott Alexander
and Larry Karaszewski bring a distinctive vision to ``Man on the
Moon,`` starring Jim Carrey as the late Andy Kaufman, who was
considered the most innovative, eccentric and enigmatic comic
of his time. Man on the Moon opens nationwide on Wednesday,
December 22, 1999.
Comic Relief, Inc. is a non-profit organization created in 1986
by comedy writer-producer Bob Zmuda to raise funds for and
awareness of America's growing homeless population. The
Artists Rights Foundation, which was founded in 1991 by the
Directors Guild of America, seeks to safeguard the rights of
film artists and protect their works from alteration.
WHO: Man on the Moon stars Jim Carrey, Danny DeVito, Courtney Love
and Paul Giamatti will join director Milos Forman,
screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, producers
Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher, executive producers George
Shapiro, Howard West and Michael Hausman, co-executive producer
Bob Zmuda and REM's Michael Stipe and Mike Mills.

Dangerfield, Fran Drescher, Michael Richards, Rob Reiner, Julia
