Two years ago, talented jewel thief Miles Logan (Martin Lawrence, ``Life'' and ``Bad Boys'') was forced to hide his stolen, precious diamond at a construction site when his $20 million heist went bad. Today, Logan is out of jail -- and willing to go to outrageous lengths to get that diamond back.

The problem? The site where he hid the diamond is now an L.A. police precinct. In ``Blue Streak,'' a hilarious comedy packed with high-voltage action directed by Les Mayfield (``Flubber,'' ``Encino Man''), Miles impersonates a detective in the hopes of making a quick and easy getaway with the rock. But teamed with rookie partner, Carlson (Luke Wilson), Logan instead becomes the toast of the department -- and ``fails upward'' to become head of detectives -- when his criminal expertise ends up inadvertently solving cases and winning the admiration of his ``fellow cops.''

Columbia Pictures presents ``Blue Streak,'' an Original Film/IndieProd Company/Toby Jaffe production, starring Martin Lawrence. Directed by Les Mayfield, the film also stars Luke Wilson, Peter Greene and Dave Chappelle. Written by Michael Berry & John Blumenthal and Steve Carpenter. Toby Jaffe and Neal H. Moritz are producers with Michael Fottrell and Peaches Davis co-producing. Daniel Melnick and Allen Shapiro are executive producers. David Eggby is director of photography and Bill Brzeski is production designer. Denise Wingate is costume designer and Michael Tronick is editor. The special effects supervisor is Clayton W. Pinney. R.A. Rondell and Alan Oliney are stunt coordinators. The visual effects supervisor is Mat Beck.

``BLUE STREAK'' IN THEATERS FRIDAY, SEPT. 17
