south of Pasadena, on what was once the private estate of a land baron.

When Robbie's friend Sammy

Robbie & Julia, Glen & Holly have a double date at a club named Spanky's. That exterior was really the Black Cow Cafe - 2219 Honolulu Ave, in Montrose, CA. Montrose is a small town northeast
of Glendale, and just west of Descanso Gardens.
Hoping to make more money to impress his fiancé, Robbie goes to a job interview at a bank. That bank
scene was filmed at the former
Bank of America building That's on the east side of Spring St, just north of 7th St. This impressive old bank has
appeared in a number of movies and TV shows,
The smoky bar where Robbie goes to drown his sorrows (and is consoled by an old drunk) is really Avignone's bar, at 2321 Honolulu Ave, in Montrose, CA. It's on the north side of the street, just a few blocks east of Spanky's.
When Robbie & Julia finally get married in the big finale, they filmed that scene on the grassy mall at The Huntington Library & Gardens - 1151 Oxford Road, San Marino, CA. the same estate where they filmed that earlier wedding scene.. (Compare the white gazebo in
the background in both scenes.)
