The Southern California locations where Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is filmed.
![]() Episode 3, of Season 2 ("Making Friends and Influencing People") We see Donnie Gill (AKA "Blizzard") sitting at a table on an exotic patio, near a pool, fixing a radio. He talks to the owner, who admires his talent for repairing things. Donnie asks him if he could trade doing repairs for room & board, saying he likes the place. The owner says that Marrakech has a long history of offering shelter to those on the run. admits that he's been talking to someone, who told him that Gill was dangerous. And he is. Flying into a rage, he grabs the owner by the throat, and using his power, freezes him solid (and later topples him to the ground, shattering him into pieces).
Just then, two Hydra agents appear, dressed in suits. One has his gun drawn.
at 939 S. Figueroa Street, in downtown Los Angeles. That's just north of the Nokia Theatre, the Staples Center and L.A. Live. Built in 1925 as a YWCA residence, the hotel has a unique Moroccan / Middle Eastern theme. And because of that, it's been used often for filming scenes that are supposed to be in some exotic locale, including for the TV shows "Chuck", "Alias", "90210", "NCIS: Los Angeles", "CSI: Miami", and the movie "Battleship". I had recently done a page about the hotel's use in "True Blood", where it also stood in for Marrakech, in a scene about Russian roulette, so I recognized it when I saw it on "S.H.I.E.L.D."
