The
location: Zack's House. |
Q.
What is it supposed to be on the show?
A. A residential
home.
Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show? A. In Miami.
Q. When did we see it on the show? A. In Episode 2 (of Season 3), "Finding Freebo". Believing that Freebo has killed both Oscar Prado and Teegan Campbell, the police are looking for him. In this scene, Angel & Quinn go to the house of Zack Adelman, a past associate of Freebo's, who they hope can give them a clue about where to find Freebo. The house is red, with a heart-shaped porch, making it almost look like a valentine. The yard is filled with pink flamingos and other plastic birds. He's reluctant to let them in, but they don't take no for an answer. Zack says he hasn't seen Freebo in over two years. Just then, they hear a sound in another part of the house. They draw their guns, and find Zack's girlfriend dumping pills in the toilet. They
are about to arrest both of them, when Zack proposes a deal, claiming he
has important information: not about Freebo, but about Chicky Hines.
Q. What is it actually in real life? A. A residential home, but not in Miami.
Q. Where can I find it in real life? A. The house can be found at 604 Shepard St, in San Pedro, CA, down around Angels Gate Park. It's
right around the corner from Billy Fleeter's
house, and just a few houses west of Javier's
motel. (The
plastic birds were set dressing.). I shot the photos below in 2009
[
Warning: This is a private home. Do not
knock on their door, trespass on their property, And in a different part of
San Pedro, they also filmed Freebo's house,
and the park where they find the body of Freebo's girlfriend, Teegan. Here is an aerial
photo of the house . And here is a map
link.
Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was? A. I looked a long time for this one without finding it. It has a distinctive look (with that red, heart-shaped porch), but with no house number, there was no way to know where to start looking. It wasn't until I found Billy Fleeter's house that I finally found Zack's as well. Fleeter's, also a red house, reminded me a bit of Zack's, and it occurred to me that Zack's might be nearby in the same neighborhood. It was, just few houses away.
