Mr. Wiggles Playland

Q. What is it supposed to be on the show?

    A. A children's Indoor playground with a clown theme, called "Mr. Wiggles Playground".

Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show?

    A.  In Miami, Florida.

Q. When did we see it on the show?

    A. In Episode 9, of Season 9, "The Family Business".

This location is seen as a flashback when Dexter tells his son, Harrison  about his dark pastime.

It is set in Dexter's past, back in Miami, at an indoor playground for children run by a sinister pedophile/child killer clown called Mr. Wiggles.

We see Dexter search the place for evidence, and uncover a secret stash of photos of dead children.

He then creates a kill room, using a children's slide as a table, and captures Mr. Wiggles with the usual needle to the neck.

While we are watching this, Dexter is narrating the story to Harrison, but at Deb's insistence, he holds back most of the bloody ritual details, including the fact that he killed Mr. Wiggles.

Q. What is it actually in real life?

    A. An actual indoor children's playground but nowhere near Miami.

Q. Where can I find it in real life?

    A. In the real world, this is actually a place known as One Stop Fun - and you will find it at 49 Powers Road, in  Westford, Massachusetts, about 23 miles northwest of Boston.

There is no giant clown's face on the outside, nor are there any palm trees growing around the building, since this isn't really in Miami. Those were added for the production.  And there are no clowns here, sinister or otherwise.

It is an Indoor fun center (with an outdoor pool in back), aimed at young children, offering a wide range of activities, including birthday parties, an indoor playground, a rock wall to climb, that outdoor pool, and even field trips. They also offer swimming lessons and ninja skills.

You can find their official website here  www.onestopfun.com.

You would probably never recognize the exterior of place, based on what you see in Dexter

In real life it is pretty sedate-looking, but for the show they painted it a bright pink, added that giant clown face (and name) over the entrance, and brought in palm trees and flowering plants to make it look semi-tropical like Miami. They also shot in mid-June, near the end of their filming schedule, to make sure the snow was long gone, and that it would at least appear to look like a hot summer spot despite the Massachusetts locale.

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?

    A. Someone on YouTube named "NismoFinder" (who is apparently from Massachusetts) reported that they were filming here around June 14, 2021, mentioned that they had added palm trees, and said that they had "transformed it into a pink, creepy clown funhouse."

And when I found One-Stop Fun's Facebook page, I noted that they were closed for filming at the same time.

Later, my friend in Massachusetts, Ron B., drove out there and shot the photos you see above. Thanks Ron!
