Dexter: Resurrection Filming Locations: The Steak Restaurant.

DEXTER: Resurrection Filming Locations - the actual places where the TV show Dexter: Resurrection was filmed.

The Location
: The Steak Restaurant.

Q. What is it supposed to be on the show?

A. An upscale restaurant.

Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show?

A.  In New York City.

Q. When did we see it on the show?
A. In Episode 8 of Season One of Resurrection, and then again at the start of episode 9.

The scene begins with Dexter and Harrison enjoying huge steaks in an upscale restaurant. They are talking about how Dexter convinced Vinny to reform.

Suddenly, menacing billionaire Leon Prater appears out of nowhere, shocking Dexter.
A cutaway shows that is enforcer Charley is waiting outside by the limo.

The scene abruptly ends as the 8th episode ends, but picks up again just where it left off. at the start of the 9th episode,

Prater still addresses Dexter as “Red”, indicating that he isn’t yet aware of Dexter’s real name, and still believes he is the “Dark Passenger” killer.

Looking at Harrison, Prater remarks that he didn’t know Red had a son.
This is clearly meant to intimidate Dexter, both by letting him know that he has uncovered part of his personal life that he has tried to keep hidden, and as a less-than-veiled threat that Harrison might be in danger should “Red” defy Prater.

Harrison, meanwhile, has no idea that Prater is dangerous. He is simply amazed that his father knows a celebrity billionaire. So he gushes over the guy, telling him that he listened to a number of his talks, and giving away potentially revealing information, such as his name and the fact that he works at the Empire Hotel.

Dexter eventually intervenes, and asks Prater to step outside.

The scene cuts to the exterior of the restaurant, where Dexter sees Charley waiting by the limo, as she smugly waves to him.

Dexter demands that Prater leave Harrison alone, and Prater assures him that he will, but demands that Dexter later tell him everything about his childhood and his motivations.

Another cutaway reveals that someone (who later turns out to be Batista) is shooting photos of Dexter & Prater together outside the restaurant.

When they part, Prater (who makes a habit of of using people’s relatives to intimidate them) Is confident that he has “Red” exactly where he wants him.

Meanwhile, Dexter leads a confused Harrison out the restaurant’s back exit, and out onto the street.

Q. What is it actually in real life?

An upscale restaurant.

Q. Where can I find it in real life?

A. This is American Cut, and as you might have guessed from those close-ups of the giant steaks in this scene, it's one of the top steakhouses in America.

You'll find it at
363 Greenwich St, In Tribeca, New York.

Their offerings include a 40-ounce Tomahawk Chop flambι, Chili Lobster, and Pastrami Ribeye.

But don’t forget to bring your credit card. As of 2025, expect to pay an average of about $100 per person (but if you want that 2½ pound Tomahawk Chop, it alone will set you back $190).

As you would expect, there is a dress code.

 Their official website is americancutsteakhouse.com.

They shot both the interiors and the exterior shots here at American Cut, with interiors being filmed in the main dining room and the outside shots being filmed on the typical Tribeca loading dock / porch out front on Greenwich Street

They filmed a lot in Tribeca (the most expensive neighborhood in NYC) this season.  For instance, this restaurant is just one block south of Mia's apartment, two blocks west of the subway stations, and two blocks northwest of Harrison's Collings College College of Criminology.

Here is a matching StreetView of the restaurant:

Here is an aerial photo of the location.  And here is a map link.

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?

A. Fortunately, photographers shot photos of the production while it was underway, including this photo of Dexter and Prater just outside the restaurant. And as you can see in the background the name .“AMERICAN CUT” is right on the door:

That name was visible again in the actual scene when Episode 9 aired.

So all I had to do was look up the address of the restaurant, and do a little research about it.   And, of course, spend multiple hours creating this webpage to spell it all out
