Dexter: Resurrection Filming Locations: Quinn at Miami crime scene.

DEXTER: Resurrection Filming Locations - the actual places where the TV show Dexter: Resurrection was filmed.

The Location
: Quinn at Miami crime scene.

Q. What is it supposed to be on the show?

A. A crime scene.

Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show?

A.  In Miami, Florida.

Q. When did we see it on the show?
A. In a short scene in Episode 8 of Season One of Resurrection, that features a cameo from one of Dexter's former coworker at Miami Metro.

We see Miami Metro's Joey Quinn and a number of police investigators at an outdoor crime scene.

A police photographer is taking photos of a bloody, dead body lying on the ground.

There is a colorful mural on the wall behind them.

Quinn gets a phone call, and it is from Detective Claudette Wallace of the NYPD.

She is calling about Angel Batista, who has been in New York claiming (without evidence) that Dexter Morgan is the Bay Harbor Butcher. And after a puzzling late-night episode at a wig store, she is trying to figure out what to make of him.

When she refers to Angel as “Captain” Batista, Quinn is quick to correct her, saying that Angel is no longer their captain, and that he suddenly retired without explanation.

She asks him about the Bay Harbor Butcher case, and Quinn tells her that case was closed years ago.

Quinn is shocked when Wallace tells him that Angel is in New York investigating that case.  He starts to tell her that “Angel is a nice guy, but...” and says just enough to convince the detective that Batista is probably just an obsessed civilian on a wild goose chase.

Q. What is it actually in real life?

A. A supermarket parking lot, with a colorful mural on the nearby wall.

Q. Where can I find it in real life?

A. You'll find this mural painted on the side of a retail store, on one side of a narrow parking lot at 420 South Broadway, in Yonkers, New York.

When this scene was shot, that retail building held two different businesses: a Rite Aid pharmacy in front, and a “Top Tomato” produce market in the back.

The large mural is painted on the south side of the building, facing a narrow parking lot (on the opposite side of this parking lot is a Payless Shoe Source).

the title  of this mural is “Woven Gifts”.  It measures 85-feet
by 20-feet, and was painted by artist Francesca Samsel of Yorktown.

You can read more about it here and here .

Alas, as I was creating this page, I found recent articles saying that the Top Tomato market was closing in September 2025 after 35 years in business. So you won’t be able to use that Top Tomato
reference for much longer to find that mural. Fortunately, Top Tomato shares that building another business: a Rite Aid Pharmacy, and it is still in business. And even if that store happens to close eventually, you can always use the address and the StreetView to get there.

The production didn't have to do much to prep this location. The mural was already there, so all they had to do was add the word “Miami” to an awning, bring in a few police cars, and apply some fake blood to the actor they hired to pretend he was a corpse in the middle of the parking lot.

The camera is facing north (or northwest) when it is looking at the mural.  The mural is on the south-facing side of the building.

Apparently, there are quite a few murals on South Broadway, as that area promotes its art while trying to renovate the neighborhood.

They shot it in Yonkers, NY, probably because that is where their studio is located, so they didn't have that far to travel.

Because of that kind of proximity, they have shot multiple scenes in Yonkers this season, including the discovery of the rideshare victim's body near the train tracks, the police impound lot where Dexter's car gets towed, a street corner where Harrison imagines seeing a dead Ryan, and the area where Dexter leaves Charley after kidnapping her.

Here is a matching StreetView of the parking lot and its mural:

Here is an aerial photo of the location.  And here is a map link.

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?

A. This was an extremely difficult location to find. And there was so little to go on that at first I didn't think I had any real chance.

All you can see in the scene is a parking lot filled with police, and a colorful mural on the wall behind them.

The mural was the only potential lead, and I realized there was a good chance that the production company itself might have put up that mural themselves (something they recently did an Original Sin).

So I was pleasantly surprised when I fed Google a cropped image of that mural from a screencap, and it returned matching images.

But I wasn't so pleased that all they told me about the mural was the title of the artwork, which was Woven Gifts.

But no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find out the address of the mural.  The best I found (from the LA Times article) was that it was somewhere “on a wall bordering a parking lot off South Broadway...”

But South Broadway is a long, major street in Yonkers, covering a large number of properties, so that wasn't that much of a help.

Fortunately, I'm not easily discouraged when it comes to tracking down locations. So I spent an absurd amount of time using StreetView to look at every parking lot on South Broadway, until I finally spotted it, hidden away in a narrow parking lot between a supermarket and a shoe store.

So for the record, let me repeat: the address is 420 South Broadway.
