Q.
What is it supposed to be on the show?
A. A public street.
Q.
Where is it supposed to be on the show?
A. In New York City.

Q. When did we see it on the show
A. In Episode 9 of Season One of Resurrection.
After Dexter abducts Charley,
by hiding in the back seat of her Mercedes and then throwing a
sharp garrotte around her neck, the way the late Dark Passenger kller
used to do, he makes her drive while he threatens her about leaving his
son alone.
This scene comes at the end of that abduction scene, when Dexter has her pull over to the side of the road and removes the garrote from her neck, then exits her car, leaving her alive and shaken.
Q. What is it actually in real life?
A. A public street.

Q.
Where can I find it in real life?
A. After Dexter abducts her, they only drive around for what seems like two or three minutes, so it seems
like the spot where he releases her might be just a short distance from
the location where Dexter abducted her.
It is not.
In fact, this spot where he releases her is about 20 miles north of the spot in Battery Park where he picks her up. It would take them almost an hour to drive there in real life.
Just before she pulls over and Dexter releases her, Charley's Mercedes is driving north on the 100 block of Woodworth Ave, then pulls over to the west side of that road.
The white building with the large, dark square on it, visible on the left side
when the car comes down that final street, is located at 138 Woodworth Ave, in Yonkers, New York. (A Google search indicates it may house a food wholesaler.)
Ironically, that building is located right next door to the location they used for the NYPD impound lot, where Blessing first drove Dexter, back in episode two, after Dex had his car towed.
The reason is simple: the two locations are only one block away from the New York studio where they film Resurrection,
so it is very convenient. and the bland, semi-industrial setting can be
used in a number of scenes that don't require any special setting.

Here is a matching StreetView of the spot where Dexter relieves Charley:

photo of the location. And here is a map

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?
A. I've noticed that Dexter has
a tendency to shoot near their studio whenever there's a non-specific
location involved, something generic that could be shot just about
anywhere. Why travel a long distance if you can shoot it in your
backyard?
And since the
scene where Dexter releases Charley is set in a nondescript,
semi-industrial area with low buildings, and I knew that there are
plenty of those in Yonkers
near the studio, that's the first place I looked, using StreetView to search the neighborhood surrounding the studio.
And I didn't have to travel far. The spot was just one block northeast of the studio, on the same block as the lot where they filmed the impound lot.
