Q.
What is it supposed to be on the show?
Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show?
Q.
When did we see it on the show?
A. In Episode 3, of Season 8, "What's Eating Dexter Morgan?".
Dexter has just received a phone call from Quinn, warning him that his sister, Debra, has just confessed to killing LaGuerta.
In this
short scene, he is speeding to the police station, with Dr. Vogel in the
passenger seat, in hope of convincing Quinn that Debra has just had a
breakdown or is drunk.
While
they're driving, Vogel questions Dexter's motives, saying that he is
mostly interested in saving himself. When Dexter says he loves
Debra, Vogel scoffs, stating that he could never love Debra in the same
self-sacrificing way that Debra loves him.
Q. What is it actually in real life?
Q. Where can I find it in real life?
A. This is Ocean Blvd, in Long Beach, the same street they used for the earlier driving scene in this episode (with Debra & Quinn).
But this time, they are headed in the opposite direction.

They are driving southeast, along Ocean Blvd, next to the beach in the Belmont Shore area of Long Beach.
During the drive, the travel less than a mile, between the Long Beach peninsula (where you'll find Angel's Cafe) and the Belmont Pier, from roughly 4600 Ocean to 5300 Ocean Blvd.
In the screencap below, Dexter's car heads southeast down Ocean,
near 4600 E. Ocean Blvd, just before Roycroft Avenue:

Here is an aerial
photo of the route. And here is a map
link.
In the small screencaps at the top right of this page, we see Dex passing
5101 Ocean at( Granada), 5241 Ocean (at Covina), and 5273 Ocean (at LaVerne).
Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?
A. I have driven Ocean Blvd many times. And it's basically
the only major street in Long Beach that runs along the actual
ocean beach (as opposed to one of the bays). I recognized it when I saw it. Then it was just a matter of
freeze-framing the details and matching them via Google StreetView.
I know that in the Belmont Shore
area, most of the smaller streets running into ocean are one-way
streets, so that was the first place I looked.
