At the start of the film, Ali
(Christina) is working at Dwight's Bar.
It's supposed to be in Iowa,
but naturally, it's really in Southern California.
Where? At 3951 E. Center Street,
in Piru, CA,
near of the northeast corner of Center Street & Main Street.
Where the heck is Piru? It's
is a tiny town located about 50 miles north of Los Angeles,
and about 15 miles west of Six Flags Magic Mountain (in Valencia).
Piru was also used recently
for two locations from the TV show "True
Blood".
(Here's a matching Google StreetView
panorama of the corner.)

The steel
bridge she walks across, as she leaves town, is also in Piru.
It is an old abandoned Union
Pacific Railroad bridge that spans Piru Creek,
just north of 4040 Center Street.
It's east of Dwight's Bar, and just east of Warring Park.
Built in 1902, the "typical
steel through-truss, two span bridge" is 320 feet long and has been
designated a historical landmark in Ventura County.
(Here's a matching Google StreetView
panorama of the bridge.)

The scene above, where Ali
is driving at night with Marcus (heading
towards a party), was shot
on the Sunset Strip, near the corner of Sunset
& Sunset Plaza Drive, in West
Hollywood.
In the photo above, their car
is heading east on Sunset Boulevard, towards Mel's
Drive-In, at 8585 W. Sunset.
In the photo below,
the car is making a left turn from Sunset (north) onto Sunset Plaza Drive.
The building on the corner is Cafe Med,
at 8615 W. Sunset Blvd,
part of the chic Sunset Plaza center.
(Here's a matching Google StreetView
panorama of the corner.)

Marcus's
mansion is an actual home, located at 822
Sarbonne Road, Bel Air,
in the hills above UCLA.
According to this former
real estate listing, the house is 7,479 square feet, with nine bathrooms,
and was listed
for sale at just under $9 million, described as "one of the most incredible
view properties in prime lower Bel Air."
.
[ Warning: This
is a private home. Do not trespass on their property,
knock on their door, or do anything else that might disturb the residents.
