formerly independent TV stations in Los Angeles, KTTV (Channel
11) and KCOP (Channel 13) are now owned
by Fox Broadcasting. (In total, Fox owns 35 TV stations across the nation.)
And both local L.A. stations are now based out of this Fox headquarters.
When their leases ran out, instead of moving the TV operations to the 20th Century Fox movie studio in Century City, Fox opted to move both stations into this building on Bundy Drive (near Olympic Blvd) in West Los Angeles. (Also sharing the Bundy space is KSCI, Channel 18, the leading Asian-language channel in Los Angeles.)
Although the Fox Network has such major hits as "The O.C.," "American Idol", "That 70's Show" and "24", don't expect to get tickets to come here and view the tapings of any of the shows airing on KTTV or KCOP. This is strictly office/news/studio space, and none of the shows airing on Fox are taped at this location.
Getting there: The former Fox/Metromedia Television Center studio is located on the south side of Sunset Boulevard, just west of the Hollywood Freeway, and just east of KTLA studios, at the southeast corner of Sunset and Van Ness. / Take the Hollywood (101) Freeway to the Sunset Boulevard exit. Go west one block to Van Ness Avenue. The studio will be on your left (south) side. / Alternatively, from Hollywood & Vine, take Vine Street south (two blocks) to Sunset Boulevard. Turn left (east) on Sunset and go east about half a mile. The studio will be on your right (south) side.
