Part Two

The actual Southern California locations where
the 2007 movie
"Superbad" was filmed.

The cops take McLovin' along for a ride in their squad car, and wind up at "Baily's Bar & Grill",
where McLovin' becomes an accidental hero when he helps the cops catch a bad guy.
They sit at the bar, drink beer, and watch the store video of him getting punched.

That bar scene was shot at The Buggy Whip restaurant,
at
7420 La Tijera Blvd, in Westchester, CA.

That's on the east side of La Tijera, just west of the San Diego (405) freeway,
about a mile northeast of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Seth & Evan accompany Francis to a rowdy house party, in hopes of stealing the alcohol they need.
But it turns out that Francis isn't welcome there, and the host beats him up, forcing
Seth & Evan to flee - but not without a quantity of purloined booze.

That party house is located in the Valley, at 17711 Community Street, in Northridge.
(That's at the northwest corner of Community St. & White Oak Ave.)

It's less than a mile southwest of Evan's home.

( That's the same street where they filmed Seth Rogen's home in "Knocked Up". )

[ Warning: this is a private home.  Do not trespass on their property,
knock on their door, or do anything else that might disturb the residents.]

Evan & Seth, carrying their stolen booze, run through a residential neighborhood. They stop
and get into an argument, where Evan accuses Seth of bailing on him.

Those scenes were filmed on the same Northridge street as the party house, only at
the other (west) end of the street, at
the corner of Community St. & Jamieson Ave.

The photo above is looking towards the southwest, and the west side of Jamieson Ave.,
The house in the background is at 8353 Jamieson.

Just then, the two cops show up (with 'McLovin' in the back of their car), and run right over Seth.
Fortunately, he's unhurt, but the cops (wanting to avoid blame for hitting him), plan to arrest
the kids. Suddenly, the kids take off running; the cops chase them through
the neighborhood, but are too out of shape to keep up with them.

The photo below, with the cop car, was shot looking towards the southeast corner
of Community & Jamieson. The house seen is at 17822 Community Street.

Warning: these are private homes.  Do not trespass on their property,
knock on their doors, or do anything else that might disturb the residents.

Having escaped the cops, the boys get on a bus (to go to their girlfriends' party), only to find
themselves in a confrontation with the hostile drunk that McLovin' helped catch at the bar.

In the process, their bottle of booze gets broken. The scene of the boys getting off the bus
(still carrying the remaining booze) was filmed on the 4100 block of Overland Avenue.

The
bus shelter is at the southeast corner of Overland Ave & Culver Blvd, in Culver City
.
They then walk south, up the east side of Overland, heading for the party house.

(That's right across the street from Sony/MGM Studio.)

The boys finally make it to their girlfriends' party, hoping to get lucky.
But it doesn't quite work out that way.

Seth is a hit for bringing the booze, but strikes out with his girlfriend because he's drunk.
Evan's girlfriend throws herself at him, but he resists because she's drunk.

McLovin' has the best luck, when a cute girl takes him to bed, but the cops
raid the party and spoil his fun. To make it up for him, they pretend to arrest him,
dragging him out past the crowd of impressionable teens, while he plays tough guy.

That teen party house is actually at 140 N. Cliffwood Ave,
in
Brentwood, just a few houses north of Sunset Blvd.

Aerial photos seem to indicate that the poolside gazebo in the back yard is real.

(It's about six miles away from that bus bench, so they would have been in for a long walk.)

After the cops accidentally smash up their own squad car, they decide to report that it was
stolen and trashed.  So they drive it to an empty parking lot at night, set it on fire, then let
"McLovin'" shoot it full of holes. This parking lot scene was shot (literally) in Lot F10
at the Cal-State Northridge campus. The lot is located at the northwest corner of
Lassen Street & Lindley Avenue
, in Northridge (in the San Fernando Valley).

The movie's final scene is shot inside a mall, where lifelong friends Seth & Evan part,
each heading off in different directions with their new girlfriends.

Those mall scenes were filmed in a real mall. It's the Fox Hills Mall, located in Culver City,
at the east end of the Marina Del Rey (90) Freeway, just east of the San Diego (405) Freeway.

The mall is located between to celebrity cemeteries: Holy Cross and Hillside cemetery.,
and only two miles south of the mini-mart location.

( Former "Diff'rent Strokes" star Gary Coleman was working as a security guard at the
Fox Hills Mall when he got into a scuffle with a mall customer - which made the news. )
