Marvel's Agents of SHIELD - Filming Locations: The Rooftop

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD - filming locations

The Southern California locations where Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is filmed.

Episode 11 ("The Magical Place") opens with a chase scene that ends after the bad guy, Vanchat,
takes an elevator to the roof of a skyscraper, only to find himself facing a small army of
S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and several helicopters waiting for him there, led by Victoria Hand.

This scene was shot on the roof of a 37-story skyscraper located at
1100 Wilshire Boulevard, in downtown Los Angeles.

That is one block west of the 110 (Harbor) Freeway, at the southwest corner of Wilshire & Bixel Street.

Built in 1987, the tower was originally planned as an office building, but that didn't work out, so in
2006 they converted it to a high-rise condo with over 200 units, each with a spectacular view.

In the screencap above, in the skyline, the angular, brown building to the right of Hand's head is
the Figueroa at Wilshire tower, while the tall white tower to the left is the U.S. Bank Tower.

The 1100 building has an usual shape.  The top glass portion is triangular, while the lower base is square.
