1:00: The movie starts 15 years ago, at a summer camp ("Camp Weehawken"),
where 'Emma' (Natalie Portman) & 'Adam' (Ashton Kutcher) meet as kids.

3:00: 10 years later, Emma & Adam meet again (by accident) at a frat house, during a wild party.

6:00: Emma convinces Adam to accompany her to a family event, which turns out to be a funeral.

         
The funeral scene was shot at Mountain View Cemetery, at 2400 Fair Oaks Ave, in Altadena, CA.
Altadena is just south of Pasadena.  The cemetery has seen a lot of filming over the years,
including the remake of "Halloween", "Flubber", and many TV shows, including "Seinfeld".

6:35: After the funeral, the wake is held at Emma's family home, a colonial mansion.

This beautiful house is located at 445 Prospect Blvd, in Pasadena, CA.

(It's on the east side of Prospect, the third house northwest of N. Orange Grove,
and is only about two miles southwest of the cemetery.)

7:39: Four years later, Emma and Adam cross paths again by accident, at an outdoor farmers market.

The scene opens with an establishing shot of downtown L.A. (seen above)
That unique silver building, center-left, is Disney Concert Hall at 135 N. Grand Ave.
The building to the far left is the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, at the Los Angeles Music Center.
The camera is looking southeast, from:

7:50: The camera pans down to a farmers market, where a strollling mariachi band is
playing an instrumental version of the Pussycat Doll's hit Don't Cha.

Adam & Emma meet again, only this time Adam's on a date with a girlfriend.
But he still manages to get Emma's phone number (on his smart phone).

This scene was shot next to the reflecting pools at the Department of Water & Power building,
across from (west 0f) the Music Center, at 111 N. Hope Street, in downtown L.A.

It's the same place they filmed the sunken houses in "Inception".

11:06: Next, we see Adam on his job at a movie studio, where they are shooting a high school musical number.
(The same location pops up several times during the film.)



They filmed these scenes at Paramount Studios, 5555 Melrose Ave, in Hollywood.

The scene above, of them walking from the soundstage to a trailer, was shot outside Stage 18.

12:00: We then see Adam visit his Dad's house, a Mediterranean mansion in the hills.

The dad ('Alvin') is played by Kevin Kline, as an actor still basking in the glory of
a former starring role, and fond of quoting that show's tagline: "Great Scott!"

In this scene, we see him meet Adam outdoors, exercising in a small bathing suit.

         This house is actually located up at 1146 Tower Road, in Beverly Hills.

( It's an appropriate address for a star.  Over the years, Tower Road has been the real home
to, among others: Jay Leno, Jack Lemmon, Spencer Tracy and David O. Selznick.
In fact, James Coburn used to live in this very same house. )

16:00: Next, we first encounter a location that is shown many times in the movie:
It's a bar/cafe owned by Adam's friend Wallace (Ludacris).

In this first scene, Adam and his friend (with the two gay fathers) are talking about Adam's dad
sleeping with Adam's ex-girlfriend.

Later, we Adam walking outside the cafe at night, talking to friend about the balloon incident,
and we see its patio (in the shot below) when he drunkenly phones old girlfriends.

These scenes were shot at Akasha, a restaurant located at 9543 Culver Blvd, in Culver City.

It's just just few blocks east of Sony (MGM) Studios, and close to the Culver Hotel.

(It's the same place made famous as "Flynn's Arcade" in the movie "Tron".)
