Part 2
The
actual Southern California locations where
the 2007 movie "Knocked Up"
was filmed.

Feeling guilty after the drunken one-night
stand (that Ben doesn't even remember), Alison goes
out on a second date with Ben, at a typical American diner.
The meeting does not go well.
That diner, it turns out, is
actually "Swingers", located
at 802 Broadway, in Santa Monica.
That's at the southeast corner of Broadway & Lincoln, five streets
east (and one street south)
of the Santa Monica's popular Third
Street Promenade.

After that awful last date, Alison would
probably never have seen Ben again, except for one thing:
she finds out that she is pregnant. In the photo above, we see her and
her sister racing through
the aisles of a drugstore, buying up
pregnancy kits.
They shot those drugstore scenes
at the Drug Emporium store located
at
6030 Lankershim Blvd, in
North Hollywood (just northwest
of Oxnard Street.)

After confirming that she is indeed pregnant,
Alison arranges to meet Ben at a trendy,
Asian-themed restaurant, where she
tells him she's expecting. He reacts badly...
That restaurant scene was shot
at Geisha House, (which is owned.
in part, by "That '70s Show"
stars Wilmer Valderrama & Ashton Kutcher). You'll find it at 6633
Hollywood Blvd.
(at the northeast corner of Hollywood & Cherokee), in Hollywood.
(That's literally
right next door to "Mood",
where they shot the club interiors.)

Next, we see Ben in a greasy
spoon diner with his Dad, asking advice for his tricky situation.
This diner scene was shot at
a local landmark, the Original Pantry Cafe,
located at
877 S. Figueroa Street,
in downtown L.A. That's at the
northwest corner
of Figueroa & 9th Street, two blocks north of the Staples
Center.
Open 24 hours a day, it is
owned by the former Mayor of Los Angeles, Richard Riordan,
and draws customers as diverse as construction workers and L.A.'s Cardinal
Mahoney.
( This location wasn't easy to figure out - but if you take a very close
look, you'll see
that Ben's dad is holding a mug with some lettering on it. I zoomed in,
then
matched that against a photo of a
Pantry mug, and sure enough... )

Later, we see the exterior
of an Italian restaurant, and then
see Ben and Alison inside,
talking about her surprise pregnancy. She comments that, if this hadn't
happened,
she hadn't planned to have a baby for at least ten years.
This scene was shot at the
oldest Italian restaurant in Hollywood, named "Miceli's",
which
started out as a pizzaria back in 1949. You will find it at 1646 N. Las
Palmas Ave,
in Hollywood. That's just a few
steps south of Hollywood Blvd, and literally next door
to the club Element, which was used
for the exterior shots of the night club scenes.
