Seeing Stars: Where the Movies Were Shot (on Location)

The ABC series, "Fresh Off the Boat", is supposed to take place in Orlando, Florida.
But in reality, the show is filmed in Southern California.

They actually used two different homes as the Huang family home:

In the original first (pilot) episode, the house (seen above) was located at the end of a cul-de-sac,
at 11951 McCune Ave, in the Mar Vista neighborhood of west Los Angeles
( near the Venice/Culver City border. )

But in subsequent episodes, they switched to a different house (see below):

This new house is located at the end of another cul-de-sac, at 3418 Craigview Ave.,
less than a mile northeast of the original house.

The Cattleman's Ranch Steakhouse, owned by the father (Louis Huang),
plays a big role on the show. But it's not in Orlando.

The building you see above is actually a local Filipino restaurant, called Max's of Manila.
You'll find it at 313 W. Broadway, in Glendale, CA (across from the Glendale Galleria).

However...

the interior shots (in the pilot episode, at least) were filmed inside a different restaurant:

Barone's Famous Italian Restaurant, at 13726 Oxnard Street, in Valley Glen.
(That's between Van Nuys and North Hollywood, in the San Fernando Valley)

The same restaurant was seen in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".

And then there's Abraham Lincoln Middle School,
where the oldest son, Eddie, goes to school:

The school you see above is actually Van Nuys Middle School
at 5435 Vesper Ave,in Van Nuys, CA.

In a funny scene in the first episode, the mother (Jessica Huang)
takes Eddie to a modern supermarket called "Food 4 All!!!!

This was shot at a real market. It's the Bristol Farms
at 1515 Westwood Blvd., in Westwood.
