Crazy Stupid Love - Filming Locations
Part 2

 The Southern California locations where
"Crazy Stupid Love" was filmed.

0:25:07: Next, we see Cal meet Jacob at an upscale mall, where Jacob begins Cal's makeover.

Since we just saw Cal at a mall (in a brief shot outside that El Torito Grill scene),
one might assume this must be the same Sherman Oaks Galleria.  But it isn't.
It's not even in the Valley.

Century City Mall

They shot these mall scenes 10 miles away, on the Westside, at the
Century City Shopping Center, located at
10250 Santa Monica Boulevard, in Century City.

You'll find this mall just a block northwest of the twin towers and the Century Plaza Hotel.

In the photo below, Jacob & Cal are standing outside the mall's Solstice store
on the mall's upper-level dining terrace. The camera is looking south,
towards the center's AMC Theatres complex.

In the photo above, he's in roughly the same place, but the camera is looking northwest.

Here is a Google StreetView of the mall entrance.)

0:27:32: Jacob continues Cal's makeover at an expensive hair salon, where the
cute stylist surprises Cal by saying that she would probably sleep with him.

salon

This scene was shot at the Cristophe salon, at 348 N. Beverly Drive, in Beverly Hills.

(That's one street east of the famous Rodeo Drive.)

Celebrity clients there have included Barbra Streisand and President Bill Clinton.

Here's a Google StreetView of the salon.

00:33:25
: Then we see the babysitter, Jessica, at her high school, in the hallway, near the lockers,
receiving a text from Cal's young son, 'Robbie' - who has a mad crush on her.

We see the school again later, (around 50:00), when Robbie shows up there
to declare his love for her in public -  by painting a "Scarlet J" on his chest.

These scenes were shot in the halls of Grant High School, at 13000 Oxnard Street, Van Nuys, CA.
(The 'Scarlet J' scene was filmed outside, in the school's main quad.)

That's about two miles north of the Pinot Bistro restaurant (seen earlier), and a similar
distance northeast of the residential neighborhood where Cal jumps out of the car

Grant High is no stranger to Hollywood.  They film "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" there,
and over the years it has seen "Clueless", "Freaks & Geeks", and "Mr. Holland's Opus" film there.

(Here is a Google StreetView of the school.)

0:34:52: We see Robbie's school ("Gregory Heights Middle School") when his mother comes to
fetch him from the principal's office, after he repeatedly says ass*** in the classroom.

And we see it later, as Cal watches his son come out of the school with the other students.

Robbie's school

These scenes were filmed at Taft High School, at 461 Winnetka Avenue, in Woodland Hills, CA.

(The gate seen above is on the school's south side, off Santa Rita Street.)

The 2012 reboot of "Spider-Man" is bring filmed there as I write this...
In the past, "The Brady Bunch Movie", and the
1981 film "Mommie Dearest" were shot there.

Here is a Google StreetView of the school.

0:38:31: Jacob takes Cal to a gym, where Cal works out with weights.

         gym

That scene was shot at Equinox gym, at 21530 Oxnard Street, in Woodland Hills, CA.

That's in the Warner Center, almost across the street from the Westfield Promenade mall,
and about a mile and a half northwest of Robbie's school.

(Here is a Bing StreetSide panorama of that gym.)

0:39:06: Next we see them in a spa together, where Jacob's casual nudity disturbs Cal.
You would assume that it was the same gym, right?  Wrong.

spa

For some reason, they shot that scene at a building just a block away from the gym, on the same street.
A rather nondescript building in an industrial park, at 21200 Oxnard St, in Woodland Hills.

The building apparently houses the spa.  (Or perhaps they built it inside - not sure.)

(Here is a Google StreetView panorama of the building it's in.)
