Q.
What is it supposed to be on the show?
Q.
Where is it supposed to be on the show?
Q.
When did we see it on the show?
A. In Episode
2, of Season 5, "Hello Bandit".
Dexter is at
the swamp, when he gets a cell phone call. It's his sister, Debra, who
was supposed to pick up his kids (Astor & Cody) from school.
She's in her
car in front of the school, and is near panic, because the kids are nowhere
to be found.
She asks Dexter
where they could be, and he remembers that Astor has been wanting to go
back to their old house, where
her mother died.
Q.
What is it actually in real life?
Q.
Where can I find it in real life?
A. Deb's car
is parked at the curb in front of the Long Beach
Petroleum Club, at 3636 Linden Avenue,
in Long Beach.
That's on the
east side of Linden, between 36th & 37th Streets, a few blocks
north of the San Diego (405) Freeway.
They added a
fake Florida flag out front, but otherwise, it looks the same as usual.
They were in
the area filming several other scenes (including the swimming
pool scene, the open house,
the scene of Dexter and Harrison in the moving
van, and the scene of Dexter saying
goodbye to the kids), so when this short scene came up, they just used
the front of the club as background.
The Petroleum
Club has its own website at www.lbpetroleumclub.com.
Dexter has
filmed often in this general in Bixby Knolls area of northwest Long Beach.
Besides the Episode 2 locations mentioned above, this location is
close to the Miguel Prado's house, Maria
LaGuerta's house, Trinity's house,
the donut shop, the pool
party, the Neighborhood Watch
scene, and a number of other (mostly residential) Dexter locations.
