Actual Southern California locations where 2003's "The Hot Chick" was filmed.

Near the start of the film, we see 'Jessica' (Rachel McAdams) and her friends strutting
in a shopping mall. (It's where Jessica buys the magic earring at the 'Mambuza' shop,
which later transforms her into a man.) These mall scenes were shot at an actual mall,
the Montebello Town Center, located on the East side of L.A., at
2134 Montebello Town Center Drive, in the city of Montebello, CA
(about nine miles east of downtown L.A.)

The escalator scenes (below) were shot down at the mall's west end, by the Robinson-May store.
The 'shoplifting' scene, where Jessica plants a pair of store panties in her rival's backpack
(so she will be stopped by security) appears to have been shot from inside the Windsor Fashions
store near the west end (looking south towards Daniel's jewelry store).

The gas station, where we first see Rob Schneider (he's a crook, robbing the place),
and where he's tormented by Jessica and her friends, was actually located in in a
mostly residential neighborhood north of downtown Pasadena, CA. The station had
been closed for a long time before the production company rented it for the film.
When it was open, it was known as "Vaskebs A+ Auto Service", and the building
is still standing, at 1150 N. Allen Ave., in Pasadena. That's the northeast corner of
Allen Ave & Brigden Road. (But hurry, that lot might be developed soon.)

Jessica's home is a real house, located at 332 S. Lorraine Blvd.,
in the posh Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Warning: This is a private home. Do not trespass on their property,
knock on their doors, or disturb their privacy.

(Hancock Park has been used as a filming location for a number of recent films.
The "Cheaper by the Dozen" house. is located on the same Lorraine Blvd, just a few houses away.
The "Bewitched" (movie) house is located is three blocks west on Lucerne Ave.)

Jessica's high school in the film (above) is actually El Segundo High School, at
640 Main Street, in El Segundo, CA (just south of LAX).
(It's the same school seen in the weekly CBS TV series "Joan of Arcadia".)

The football/grandstand scenes (below) were shot seven miles down the coast, at
Redondo Union High School, 631 Vincent Park, in Redondo Beach, CA.).

The exterior, moonlit Prom scenes near the end of the film were shot on the walkway/porch
that runs in front of The Huntington Gallery at The Huntington Library, Museum & Gardens,
located at 1151 Oxford Road, in San Marino, CA (just south of Pasadena).

(It's the original Huntington mansion, where you can see the portraits of The Blue Boy and Pinky inside)

This is where Jessica's friend (April) and Spence kiss, to make her ex-boyfriend
jealous, then April tells Jessica/Spence that she loves him
