The opening shot of S.W.A.T. is an aerial view of the Hollywood sign as a helicopter
flies over the Hollywood Hills (from south to north) and into the San Fernando Valley.
There, we see helicopters hovering over what is supposed to be the bank robbery
scene. But as we'll see below, that crime scene wasn't shot in the Valley...

In reality, the robbery of "Valley Trust Bank" was actually filmed near the intersection
of Broadway & Workman Street, in the Lincoln Heights area of Los Angeles, a rough
part of town northeast of downtown L.A., and about a mile east of Dodger Stadium.
The 'bank' was an empty building on the northwest corner of that intersection.   *

The scenes where 'Jim Street' (Colin Farrell) is exercising on the beach
(after he's quit S.W.A.T.) appear to have been filmed along the Huntington Beach-
Sunset Beach coastal area, located south of Long Beach and north of Newport Beach.
(But the short pier shown is definitely not the main Huntington Beach pier).

The "LAX airport terminal" scenes weren't filmed at LAX. Instead, they were actually
shot at a cruise ship terminal: at the Port of Los Angeles' World Cruise Center,
Berth 93-A, in San Pedro. It's located right below the Vincent Thomas Bridge at
the south end of the Harbor (110) Freeway.
(This berth was also the home port of the TV series "The Love Boat" for many years.)
