In the previous episode, the Asgardian sorceress Lorelei enchanted newlywed Jimmy MacKenzie
into abandoning his new bride at a Death Valley motel, and accompanying Lorelei as her protector.

As this episode opens, Jimmy & Lorelei arrive (in his car) at this desert biker bar.  As Jimmy
ducks inside for a moment, Lorelei leaves the car and becomes intrigued by the thundering
Harleys of the local biker gang ("Dogs of Hell").



She speaks with the leader of the gang (a guy named 'Rooster') and comes to the
conclusion that he and his gang would offer her better protection than poor Jimmy.
So she enchants 'Rooster' to do her will.

Just then, Jimmy comes back and protests being replaced.  No longer needing him,
Lorelei promptly disposes of Jimmy, in a less than genteel fashion...

 

S.H.I.E.L.D. tracks them down, but by the time they arrive at the biker bar (accompanied by Thor's
lover, the Asgardian Lady Sif), Lorelei has enchanted the local police, as well as the gang, and
S.H.I.E.L.D. must battle them outside the bar, while Sif goes in after Lorelei herself.

Sif confronts Lorelei inside the bar, but while Sif is fighting the gang members, Lorelei slips away and
enchants agent Ward, who helps her escape with him on a motorcycle.  They head to Vegas.

This biker bar is supposed to be located "on the California/Nevada border.  But it isn't.

This scene was actually shot in the same desert location as the "Death Valley motel" scenes in
the previous episode: at a permanent movie set called "Four Aces", built out in the Mojave desert.

The compound is composed of a fake motel, a fake gas station and a fake diner, all of which
boast real interiors, as well as an additional bar interior - where parts of this scene were filmed.

All they did was to shift their focus from the set's fake motel to its fake gas station,
and fixed up the front of the gas station building to resemble a bar entrance.

And of course, they changed the "Four Aces" sign outside to read
"Rosie's Desert Oasis" (promising "Hops, Hogs, Honeys").

"Four Aces" is located at 14499 E. Avenue Q, five miles east of Palmdale, CA

about 35 miles northeast of Six Flags Magic Mountain,
and a good 75 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.

The Four Aces is used often by Hollywood, including once for an episode of "The O.C."
