Marvel's Agents of SHIELD - Filming Locations: Inhuman Rescue in Seattle

The Southern California locations where Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is filmed.

Episode 1, of Season 3 ("Laws of Nature")

00:01: The opening scene is a battle in a city, supposedly "Seattle, Washington,
where a newly-reborn Inhuman, Joey Gutierrez, is accidentally
causing havoc with his new powers.

He is about to be killed by the military, when Daisy (Skye) and the S.H.I.E.L.D.
team come to his rescue - whisking him off to safety in a jet-propelled sky box.

The establishing shot above actually is Seattle (that peaked tower near the
center is the Smith Tower, at 506 2nd Ave, in Seattle).

(Here is a matching Google Earth aerial view of Seattle.)

But that is the only time the real Seattle actually appears in this lengthy scene,
- other than the occasional CGI shots of the Space Needle or other bits of the
Seattle skyline that have been carefully inserted into the background.

Virtually all of this scene was actually filmed 950 miles away, in Los Angeles.

One advantage of taking every studio tour in Hollywood: you quickly come to recognize
a studio back lot when you see one. And this obviously was one.

The only question was, which studio? Warner Bros, Universal and Paramount studios
all still have standing New York sets, and they tend to somewhat resemble each other.

Since S.H.I.E.L.D. has filmed on the back lot of Universal a lot, my first guess was that one.
But I couldn't match the screencaps with my own photos of the Universal lot.
Ditto for the Warner Bros lot. But when I checked my photos from the
Paramount Studio tour, BINGO! A perfect match.

Virtually this entire scene was shot on the backlot of
Paramount Studios, at 5555 Melrose Avenue, in Hollywood.

To be more precise, it was shot on the studios Brooklyn set,
a part of the larger New York set at Paramount.

The Brooklyn set, with its stoops & fire escapes, was originally designed for the
TV series "Bronx Zoo" and "Brooklyn Bridge", and has appeared in
productions such as "Along Came Polly" and "Fraiser".
