Marvel's Agents of SHIELD - Filming Locations: Northwest Harbor

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

The Southern California locations where Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is filmed.

At the start of Episode 19 ("The Only Light in the Darkness"),
we see a man walking along a fishing boat harbor, at night.

That man turns out to be Marcus Daniels, AKA "Blackout".

Daniels comes across a fisherman loading lobster traps into his pickup truck.

He asks the fisherman for a ride to Portland.  But the guy tells him that he's not
driving 200 miles out of his way to give him a lift. (That remark tells us that the harbor
is supposed to be either in the state of Oregon or neighboring Washington.)

Blackout responds by raising a hand and causing the truck's engine to stall.

When the fisherman asks how he did that, Blackout touches the man
and seems to drain the life force out of him, leaving him dead on the street.

Blackout gets into the man's truck and drives away.

This scene was shot at the fishing boat slip next to Ports O'Call Village in San Pedro, CA.

San Pedro (named after the fisherman, St. Peter) was once a major center of the fishing industry.

Over the years, that role has diminished, but you can find what remains of that fishing
history here at this small side channel, lined on both side by working fishing boats.

It lies just past the south end of the New England-themed Ports O'Call Village, a shopping/dining
village built alongside the main channel, and offering views of the constant comings & goings
of the port's ship traffic.  Just follow Nagoya Way (off Samson Way) south past the Village,
and the fishing slip lies against the far south end of the Village's large parking lot.

They filmed the scene on the north/northeast side of the small channel.

( TV used the same fishing slip back in an episode of "The O.C.", when
Ryan was on the verge of dropping out of school and joining a boat crew. )
