Marvel's Agents of SHIELD - Filming Locations: Crusher Creel's Diner

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

The Southern California locations where Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is filmed.

Episode 2, of Season 2 ("Heavy is the Head")

Melinda May follows 'Crusher' Creel (AKA "The Absorbing Man") to a small rural diner.

While seated at a booth, Creel looks at his arm, and sees that he has been infected by "The Obelisk".
He seems to have absorbed the object's ability to turn people into stone,
and his own arm is slowly petrifying...

As May waits outside, the waitress inside the diner makes the mistake of accidentally
coming into contact with Creel's infected arm.

In no time, her arm is turning to stone.

May hears her scream and rushes in to help, but it's too late.
The woman turns completely into stone before her eyes.

And in the confusion, Creel has escaped.

This scene was shot at an actual diner, called the Halfway House Cafe.

You'll find it at 15564 Sierra Highway, in Santa Clarita, CA.

That's about 45 miles north of downtown Los Angeles,
and about 12 miles east of Six Flags Magic Mountain.

It started out in 1931 as a trading post for farmers,
"halfway" between Palmdale and Los Angeles.

( The cafe has its own website here. )

Here is a Google StreetView of the diner:
