Marvel's Agents of SHIELD - Filming Locations: Coulson's Grave

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

The Southern California locations where Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is filmed.

In Episode 20 ("Nothing Personal"), we see a man visiting a grave at a cemetery

He hears a sound coming from a nearby grave, and when he goes to investigate,
he sees Agent Melinda May crawling out of the open grave.

After she walks away, the man looks into the grave and sees only an
empty casket, with the lining ripped.

The headstone above the empty grave reads "Phillip Coulson":

She goes to her car, and we see that she has found a USB flash drive inside Coulson's empty casket.

She inserts the drive in her laptop computer, and finds it contains a classified report
to S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury about the top-secret T.A.H.I.T.I. project.

This scene was shot at Mountain View Cemetery,
at 2400 Fair Oaks Ave, in Altadena, CA.

Altadena is located just north of the city of Pasadena, CA
(where they filmed the Washington, D.C. scene).

TV's original Superman, George Reeves, is buried at Mountain View,
some say in the same suit he wore as Clark Kent, on the show.

The cemetery is also popular with filmmakers because of its old-style, upright headstones,
It was also used in "No Strings Attached", "End of Days" and the 2007 remake of "Halloween".

Here is a Google StreetView of the cemetery's main entrance.
