Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

The Southern California locations where Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is filmed.

Episode 12, of Season 2 ("Who You Really Are")

21:32:  In a short scene, we see the Kree hunter unearth a chest or large trunk,
inside a cave, and he then drags it outside.

This cave is supposedly located in Chaves, Portugal, the site of an archaeological dig where,
back in 1945, Hydra boss Whitehall first found the obelisk.

But the S.H.I.E.L.D. team arrives and takes the Kree into custody.

This was actually shot at the Bronson Caves, in Los Angeles's Griffith Park.

Perhaps best known as "The Batcave", from the 1960's TV series "Batman",
the Bronson caves have appeared in countless movies and TV shows, ranging
from "Star Trek" to "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers".

You can read more about them here, including directions to the cave.

Here is the best available Google StreetView of start of the trail leading to the caves.
