The Actual Southern California Locations where 1997's
"Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion" was filmed.

Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion opens with an aerial shot of Venice Beach, CA,
zooming (east) into the girl's apartment window. The sidewalk which runs along the beach,
in front of the buildings in Venice, is known as Ocean Front Walk.

The 4-story brick apartment building in Venice where Romy and Michelle live is really
located at 417 Ocean Front Walk, in Venice (a couple of blocks south of Rose Avenue).
It was recently renovated, and is now called "The Venice Suites".

(Rents in 2005 range from $1,800 to $3,600 per month.)
It even has its own website at http://www.venicesuites.com

Romy (Mira Sorvino) and Michelle (Lisa Kudrow) are seen out strolling past shops
(while discussing which "group" they belonged to when they were in high school).
At first it appears that they are still on Venice's Ocean Front Walk, but they're not.
They are really miles away, on Third Street in West L.A. Behind them, you can
see "Zipper Art Form & Function" at 8316 W. 3rd Street, and a "Fabrics Plus"
at 8314 W. 3rd Street. (That's on the somewhat quirky stretch of Third Street,
between Farmers Market and the Beverly Center.)

The girls have lunch (while looking through their high school yearbook) in a cafe with
plaid booths and a counter (with stools), as well as an outdoor patio dining area.
This is actually "Swinger's" restaurant, at 8020 Beverly Blvd, in West L.A., just two
streets north of the Third Street shopping area mentioned above. The cafe is
located on the outside corner of the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel.

Romy & Michelle have flashback memories of their time at high school (when they are
tormented by the popular girls.) Their "Sagebrush High School" is supposed to be in
Tucson, Arizona. But it's really in L.A. too. It's actually Valencia High School, and is
located at 27801 Dickason Drive, about a mile and a half northeast of Six Flags
Magic Mountain amusement park.

(Valencia High was also seen in the movies "BioDome" and "Pleasantville".)

The Jaguar auto dealership (where Romy works) was reportedly "Rusnak Pasadena",
a luxury car dealer located at 337 W. Colorado Blvd, in Pasadena, CA.
