The Actual Southern California Locations where the
2010 comedy,
"Dinner for Schmucks", was filmed.

As the movie opens, we see a glass office building, Fender Financial, where 'Tim Conrad' (Paul Rudd)
and his co-workers watch as a fellow co-worker leaves after being fired.

In real life, that unique, glass office building where Paul works is none other than the new offices
of the Hollywood super-agency, Creative Artists Agency (or CAA, for short), located at
2000 Avenue of the Stars, in Century City, CA.

Notable clients of CAA (as of 2010) included George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt,
Will Smith, Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Robert Downey, Jr.,
Jennifer Aniston, Bruce Willis, Jim Carrey, Cameron Diaz, Steven Spielberg, Natalie Portman,
Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, and Zac Efron, among many others.

(But ironically, neither Paul Rudd nor Steve Carell are CAA clients.)

In the photo above, through the open portal in the center of the building (looking east), you can see
the landmark twin towers of Century City. Right across the street is the Century Plaza Hotel.

(Here's a Google Streetview panorama of the building.)

Tim meets his fiancé, 'Julie' at the Cronin Art Gallery, where she is hosting an art exhibition
for the eccentric, egocentric artist, 'Kieran'.  It's here that Tim first meets Kieran.

This actually is an art gallery, but its real name is the Morono Kiang Gallery, which is
located in the famous Bradbury Building, at 218 W3rd Street, in downtown Los Angeles.

The historic Bradbury Building is well known from movies such as "Blade Runner" and "Chinatown".

(Here's a matching Google Streetview panorama of the building's exterior.)

Later, Paul meets Julie again, this time at a cafe, where they discuss Kieran over drinks.

This is an actual restaurant, named Kendall's Brasserie, located at the Music Center,
below the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, at 135 NGrand Ave, in downtown Los Angeles.

(Here's a matching Google StreetView panorama of the Music Center's exterior.)

The main plot of the movie kicks in when Tim, driving in his Porsche,
accidentally knocks over first-class schmuck, 'Barry Speck' (Steve Carell).

Tim is surprised when Barry doesn't threaten to sue him over the auto accident.
Instead, Barry actually offers Tim money!  Tim soon realizes he is dealing with an idiot.

Barry shows Tim his odd works of art, made up of taxidermied mice
which Barry has dressed in clothes and posed in various dioramas.

This scene was shot on the streets of Westwood Village, near the UCLA campus.

To be more exact, Tim's car was headed south down Broxton Avenue.
The accident takes place in front of the Landmark's Regent theatre, at 1045 Broxton.

(It appears they built a false front for a fake taxidermy shop in front of the Falafal King cafe.)

(Here's a Google StreetView panorama of the street.)

Tim lives in an Art Deco high-rise apartment house (where Barry comes to visit him).

That building is actually the historic Sunset Tower Hotel, towering over the Sunset Strip,
at 8358 Sunset Blvd., in West Hollywood.

In Hollywood's Golden Age, it was a home to stars like Clark Gable, John Wayne,
Howard Hughes, Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra. In the 70's, the
building was seen on the popular detective show "Cannon", as Cannon's condo

(Here's a Google StreetView panorama of the tower.)

Jealous over his girlfriend 'Julie' hanging around the sex-obsessed artist, a temporarily-disabled
Tim has Barry drive him to Kieran's home/studio, where they break in, only to encounter
Kieran about to begin a freaky sexual encounter with two of his models.

I first found this red building while successfully hunting for it as a "Dexter" location
(where, coincidentally, it played the home/studio of a sex-obsessed, eccentric photographer).

You'll find it at 1317 Willow Street, in the warehouse district of downtown Los Angeles.

(Note that the fire escape outside is fake - they added it for the movie.)
