Owner Joachim Splichal,
one of the best-known chefs in America, opened this small Franco-Californian
restaurant in 1991. It is a sparse, sophisticated, white room, which offers
outstanding food and excellent service - with none of the attitude problems
so common at other celebrity restaurants. And this is one place where the
food is truly as dazzling as the stars who eat it. Patina is open for lunch, Tues-Fri: 11:30 AM-2:30 PM, and for dinner every day from 6 to 10 PM. Prices, as you might expect, are high. Splichal offers a special wild game menu in the fall, and February brings a special black truffle menu.
