The
location: The Valet Station. |
![]() A. The valet
station in front of a hotel or country club. Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show? A. In or near
Miami.
Q. When did we see it on the show? A. In Episode 1 (the pilot of Season One), "Dexter".
In the brief scene, we see Dexter pull up in his car outside the hotel, and we see Jaworski in his valet uniform open the door of a red sports car for an attractive woman, and then ogle her as she walks past him. We see a close-up of a sexy red devil tattoo on his forearm. Dexter mentions that he believes Jaworski killed a woman, that he was arrested, but the police couldn't hold him. We next see Dexter at Jaworski's small house, where he breaks in and finds evidence, on Jaworski's computer, that he is running a sadistic website about rape. Later, Dexter looks at a rape video on Jaworski's website, and see's that same sexy red devil tattoo on the arm of a masked man accosting the victim in a rape video. In the video, we see the man brandish a knife at the tied-up woman. Later, Dexter captures Jaworski, and he admits killing the woman for a snuff film - and says that he's not sorry. Dexter kills him.
Q. What is it actually in real life? A. A country
club. Q. Where can I find it in real life? A. This brief scene was filmed at the entrance to Doral Park Country Club, at 5001 N.W. 104 Ave, in Doral, Florida. In the scene, the camera is looking south/southeast, at the club's main entrance. The community of Doral Park is about 11 miles northeast of downtown Miami. The country club is located near the center of the Doral golf course & resort. The
club has its own website at http://www.doralpark.org Here is an aerial
photo of the club. And here is a map
link.
Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was? A. This was
a tip from Roy, of Amsterdam, the same
fan who gave us the location of the choirmaster's
gazebo - from the same pilot episode of "Dexter". He noticed
that they mentioned it as a country club in the script, so he checked out
Miami country clubs, and quickly found Doral, verifying it with online
photos such as this
one. .
