Dexter: Original Sin Filming Locations: Laura forced into limousine
Location: Laura forced into limousine
Q.
What is it supposed to be on the show?
A. There are no signs identifying it, but it seems to be some sort of official government building.
Q.
Where is it supposed to be on the show?
A. In or near Miami, Florida.
Q.
When did we see it on the show?
A. We see in Episode 3, of Season 1.
Laura Moser (Dexter's biological mother and Harry's CI) is
coming out of a government building after just having sold drugs to
Councilman Carlos Aldana.
Miami Metro cops Harry & Bobby are waiting in a car nearby, watching her.
Just as she descends the steps, a black limousine pulls up and a man, Santos Jimenez, orders her to get into the car.
Inside the limo, Diego Lopez, a more sophisticated man in the Estrada drug cartel, is waiting.
Harry & Bobby follow the limousine through Miami, anxious about Laura’s safety.
( It is Santos Jimenez who eventually murders Laura, on Estrada’s orders, after she is seen meeting with Harry. )
Q.
What is it actually in real life?
A. A studio building.
Where can I find it in real life?
A. The building we see Laura coming out of is actually the Administration building of Radford Studio Center,at 4024 Radford Ave, in Studio City, CA. That studio, formerly owned by CBS, is now the home base for Dexter: Original Sin, Replacing The Sunset-Gower Studio that they used for eight years during the filming of the original series
The administration building is located inside the studio, but is visible from the street outside.
Obviously, since it's a relatively quick scene, they were just looking
for a building that resembled a government building, and the Radford
administration building certainly does that. So they took the easy way
out and just shot one of their own buildings at the studio.
Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?
A. This
wasn't difficult . First, I've been past the studio more than once, and
I've even shot photos of it for my website, so I knew the building looked
familiar. but when I ran the image through Google images, it quickly
popped up Radford Studios.
