Q.
What is it supposed to be on the show?
A. A bar in a hotel lobby.
Q.
Where is it supposed to be on the show?
A. In New York City.

Q. When did we see it on the show?
A. We see this location in Episode 2 of Season 1 of Resurrection.
Dexter has snuck into Harrison's hotel, to try to make sure that there
is no incriminating evidence left behind at the crime scene after
Harrison killed a serial rapist . But the kitchen is busy, so he needs to kill time
until the kitchen staff goes home.
In this scene, Dexter walks through the door separating the kitchen from
the lobby bar area, and is seated at a table. He orders two
cheeseburgers, and waits until he sees the kitchen staff go home, when
he sneaks back into the kitchen area and checks out the forensics.
Q. What is it actually in real life?
A. A bar in a hotel lobby.
Q.
Where can I find it in real life?
A. This is exactly what it looks like on the show: the lobby bar the Empire Hotel, where Harrison works. You would have found it just off the main lobby at that upscale Manhattan hotel.
That's where they filmed the scene.
But unfortunately, Google is now reporting that the lobby bar is
permanently closed. But here are three photos of what it looked
like:

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?
A. It's not hard to recognize the Empire Hotel from what we see in this scene. The
stylish black & white tiling on the floor alone is a dead giveaway
to its location, not to mention those shiny globes suspended above the
bar.
