Q.
What is it supposed to be on the show?
A. An urban park.
Q.
Where is it supposed to be on the show?
A. In New York City.

Q. When did we see it on the show?
A. We see this location in Episode 4 of Season 1 of Resurrection.
Having found a mysterious invitation (along with a large amount of cash)
that was left four the now-deceased Dark Passenger, Dexter decides to
impersonate that late serial killer, in order to infiltrate the
operation and satisfy his own curiosity about what is going on.
In this scene, Dexter meets up with Leon Praters right-hand man and
enforcer, Charley, who has been sent to bring Dexter back to Praters
mansion.

Her Mercedes-Benz S-Class pulls up on a park path, and asks Dexter (disguised in the Dark
Passengers trademark hoodie and dark glasses), if he is Ron Schmidt.
Dexter says yes.
He starts to get into the cars back seat, but Charley (no doubt
remembering that the Dark Passengers method of killing was to garrot
his victims from the back seat) stops him, while flashing her pistol in a
shoulder holster, and makes him sit up front with her.
As they are driving to Praters mansion, Dexter asks for information, but Charley isnt giving away anything.
They discuss his reaction to finding the invitation in his apartment,
and she brags about figuring out who he was in just three weeks (at
which point, Dexter thinks to himself that it only took him three days
to identify Ron Schmidt).
They drive past the front of Praters mansion, and then into a very Impressive driveway
Q. What is it actually in real life?
A. An urban park.
Q.
Where can I find it in real life?

A. This scene was shot in New York's famous Central Park, a massive urban park located in the heart of Manhattan.
At 843 acres, the park represents a full 6% of all the land in
Manhattan. It is two and a half miles long (from north to south),
and almost a mile wide (from east to west). N
This scene was shot in the mid-lower half of the park, at two key locations:
- We first see Dexter at the Bethesda Terrace, featuring the spectacular Bethesda Fountain, topped by a larger-than-life statue of a winged angel. It is located at 40°46'27.5"N 73°58'15.1"W .
(This angel statue was memorably featured in the 1973 movie musical Godspell, during the number Prepare Ye, in which the John the Baptist character is seen holding the giant hand of the angel.)
- Dexter then climbs the broad stone steps stairs up out of the Terrace, and we next see him on a path next to The Lake in Central Park, about 300 yards northwest of the fountain, at approximately 40°46'31.3"N 73°58'22.1"W .N

The unique twin buildings seen in the distance beyond the lake in this scene are known as the San Remo, a luxury apartment house located at 145-146 Central Park West,
on the Upper West Side. It has reportedly seen celebrity tenants
such as Dustin Hoffman, Diane Keaton, Bruce Willis & Demi Moore,
U2's Bono, and Steven Spielberg.
He
is then picked up by Charley in her car (although
in real life, cars are no longer allowed on the roads of Central Park) .
A few of the roads inside Central Park, such as Terrace Drive, were once open
to automobiles, but they have been banned there since 2018.
However, the road she is driving on appears to
be just one of the countless walking paths in Central Park. There wasnt
enough detail shown to be able to pinpoint the exact location of the path in that
enormous park, but it was probably close to the other two locations:
Bethesda Terrace and the southeast shore of The Lake.

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?
A. I am very
familiar with that Bethesda Fountain and its angel statue, so the minute I saw
that, I realized where they were in Central Park.
I had to use
StreetView to estimate roughly where they were at when we see those twin
towers in the background beyond the water.
But that was fairly easy to do, I just needed to keep moving until the
StreetView matched the approximate angle of those buildings seen in the
scene.
Im still not sure
exactly where they filmed the final shot of Dexter getting into Charleys
car. Since cars arent allowed in Central Park anymore, and since there
was no painted stripe on the road she was driving on (something you'll
find on most of the park roads that used to be open to cars), I suspect
they just used one of the innumerable pedestrian paths in the park
(after getting permission via a filming permit, of course.)
