Q.

followed by scenes of Dexter driving in Manhattan traffic and then
running into a little trouble with a pedestrian in Times Square.

This was actually shot in New York City.
. Q.
Where can I find it in real life?

Looking south/southwest at midtown Manhattan.
- The very tall, white building on the far right side is 432 Park Ave.
- Just to its left is the Empire State Building (at 20 W. 34th St.)
- The shiny building in the exact center on the distant horizon is One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower), at 285 Fulton St, New York.

Dexter arrives at crowded Times Square.
The
familiar triangle of Times Square is caused by the three-way
intersection 45th St, 7th Ave, and Broadway.
All of these pedestrian scenes were shot at that three-way intersection.N
In the photo above, the camera is looking east/southeast down W. 45th St from that three-way intersection.
- Note McDonald’s golden arches on the right side (it is at 1528 Broadway, in Times Square).
- Note the Statue of Liberty hand & torch on the right side . That is “RiseNY”, a simulator ride (it’s at 160 W 45th St).
- Note the 1540 number on the left side, which is at 1540 W 45th St.

from the intersection of 45th St. & 7th Ave. .
(The camera is simply looking the opposite direction on the same street where we saw the McDonald’s.)
The Paramount building on the left is at 1515 Broadway.

Man Crossing Street.
In this shot the camera is turned around and is
looking southeast again (towards McDonald’s).
The man is walking across W. 45th Street,
heading from north to south.
Dexter’s car is headed west on 45th Street
when he almost hits the guy.
|
With all the changing camera angles, it can get confusing.
But every shot that is seen from Dexter’s viewpoint is looking west up W 45th St, while every shot that is seen from the crossing man’s perspective iIbad s looking east down the same 45th St.
|
When the camera finally looks at Dexter from the side, as he drives through the intersection, the camera is looking north up 7th Ave from that same three-way intersection.
