Dexter: Resurrection Filming Locations: Charley's house.

DEXTER: Resurrection Filming Locations - the actual places where the TV show Dexter: Resurrection was filmed.

The Location
: Charley's house.

Q. What is it supposed to be on the show?

A. The home of Charlotte “Charley” Brown, billionaire Leon Prater's .“right hand man” and enforcer.

Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show?

A.  In New York City.

Q. When did we see it on the show?
A. First in Episode 9, of Season One of Resurrection, and then again in Episode 10.

In the first scene, Dexter breaks into Charley's house, looking for information about her, after she intimidated his son, Harrison.

He finds photos and medals indicating that she and her mother were decorated members of the Armed Forces. And going upstairs, he finds an older woman in a hospital bed, with a nurse, and assumes it is probably her ailing mother.  He  leaves without disturbing her.

In the second scene, near the very end of the season, Charley is outside her house at night, and she is pushing her ailing mother in a wheelchair, as she hurries to get far away from Prater. The elderly woman is understandably confused, and asks where they are going. Charley tells her that she bought their childhood home, and they are moving back to Amherst, Massachusetts.

As Charley is helping her into a car, her mother asks about her job. Charley replies that they need to have a long talk.

Q. What is it actually in real life?

A. An expensive townhouse.

Q. Where can I find it in real life?

A. You'll find this classic townhouse at 165 W 88th St, on New York's Upper West Side

It's just a block and a half west of Central Park.

According to Zillow, this is a
4,200 square-foot townhouse with 4 bedrooms and 5 baths, which was built in 1901.  Their estimate of its value in 2025 is $7.5 million.

The nearest Dexter: Resurrection locations would be the ones in Central Park, including the scene of Charley meeting Dexter there, Dexter jogging with Lady vengeance, and Harrison sailing model  boats on the pond.

Another source says about the house: “One of a group of three Renaissance Revival style houses with Romanesque Revival style details designed by Albert Huttira and George H. Anderson and constructed in 1890-91; the house retains it's brownstone stoop which terminate in three foot high newels; the style, scale, building type, materials, design and details are among the features which cause the building to contribute to the special architectural and historic character of the Upper West Side/Central Park West Historic District.”

Here's a wider view of that large window and adjacent staircase:

They used the actual interior of the house at 165 West 88th St for the Indoor scenes where Dexter breaks into the house and looks around. photos of the interior clearly show the home's unique wall of window panes, and the nearby staircase's distinctive finial.

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?

A. Way back in April, months before the show aired, I found  a Youtube video of Dexter filming a scene of Charley pushing an older woman in a wheelchair.  And there were also paparazzi photos available of the same filming action . They showed the front of the homes there, but all they said was that it was on the Upper West Side. So that didn't help, at first.

And I also found a reddit post saying that they were filming somewhere on 88th Street, and when I checked that street I saw there were a lot of old brownstones.

However, one of those photographs, pictured below, was detailed enough that when I blew it up, I could make out the address of one of the townhouses: 167. And when I checked 167 88th Street , it was a match for that photo, and Charley's house was right next door (to the right), at 165 88th Street.

In the Youtube video, you will note that Charley, when she's pushing her mother in the wheelchair, is walking between a fire hydrant and  a stone light pole. It so happens that this house is right between those two identifiers, making it simpler to spot.

Later, when I saw the 9th episode scene where Dexter breaks into her house, I was able to compare it to the StreetView of the area and pinpoint the exact door. Once I knew the address, I was able to google for real estate photos that revealed the interior of the house in real life, and they perfectly matched what we see in the episode when Dexter rummages inside Charley's house.
