Dexter Filming Locations: Dexter & Rita's New House

DEXTER Filming Locations - over a hundred actual places where the TV show Dexter was filmed.

The location: Debra Meets Harry's C.I.

Q. What is it supposed to be on the show?

    A. A residential home.

Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show?

    A. Somewhere in Miami.

Q. When did we see it on the show?

    A. In Episode 1 of the 4th season, "Living the Dream".

This is the home of Suzanna Coffey, one of Harry's
C.I's (confidential informants), played on the show by Adrienne Barbeau.

Debra goes there as part of her ongoing search for information about her late father's indiscretions.

In this brief scene, we see Debra parked outside the home, as she goes through some file folders, and takes the one with Suzanna's photo on it.

We then see Suzanna welcome her at the door (it's clear that Debra phoned ahead), and see Debra enter the house via the front door.

They are next seen sitting inside at the kitchen table, as Debra tries to find a discreet way of
asking her if she was sleeping with her father.

At first, it seems that way, with the woman saying that Harry aggressively pursued whatever he wanted. And she makes it clear that she wanted to sleep with him.

But when Debra asks if she did, Suzanna says that Harry never asked.

Q. What is it actually in real life?

    A. A residential home. But nowhere near Miami.

Q. Where can I find it in real life?

    A. This was shot just around the corner from Dexter & Rita's house, at 110 Coronado Ave, in the Bluff Park section of Long Beach, CA.

That's on the east side of the street, just two houses north of 1st Street.

The Dexter crew painted the white house a light purple for the scene.

The house is just a few blocks south of Trinity's school, and about half a mile southwest of the gas station.
It's about three miles southeast of the plaza where Lundy first bumped into the Trinity Killer, and about a mile southwest of the park where they found Miguel Prado's body in the last episode of the previous (3rd) season.

Here is a Google StreetView panorama of the house.

[ Warning: This is a private home.  Do not trespass on their property, knock on their door,
or do anything else that might disturb the residents. ]

Here is an aerial photo of the house. And here is a map link.

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?

    A.  This one was a tip from a fan, Darlene Taylor. (Thanks, Darlene!)
