Q. What is it supposed to be on the show?

    A. A public street.

Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show?

    A. Somewhere in Miami.

Q. When did we see it on the show?

    A. In Episode 5, of Season 8, "This Little Piggy".

    Debra is upset with Dexter, who isn't answering her calls, so while driving, she tries to phone Dr. Vogel for an appointment.

    When Vogel doesn't answer the phone, Debra goes to Vogel's house, and discovers that Vogel has been kidnapped by Yates.

Q. What is it actually in real life?

    A. A public street.

Q. Where can I find it in real life?

    A. Look at the houses passing in the background, as Deb makes the phone call.
    (This scene is very similar to an earlier driving scene where Deb tries to phone Dex, only to have him hang up on her.)

    This driving scene was shot on Windsor Blvd, in the Hancock Park district of Los Angeles.

    To be more specific, Deb's car is headed south on Windsor, with the camera looking at the east side of the street.

    They are driving through the 100 block of N. Windsor, between Beverly Blvd and 1st Street.

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?

    A.  I knew they had been filming in the Hancock Park area for this episode, and the homes look like Hancock Park.

    So my only problem was finding the exact street and block.  And it wasn't easy.  Hancock Park is a fairly large area, when you have to look at every single house... But using StreetView and Bing aerial photos, I eventually found the right sequence of homes on the east side of Windsor Street.
