location: Country Club Patio Restaurant.
Q. What is it supposed to be on the show?
A. A patio restaurant
at Prado's country club.
Q. Where is it supposed to be on the show?
A. In Miami,
Q. When did we see it on the show?
A. In Episode 5 (of season 3), "Turning Biminese".
Following a game of golf at Miguel Prado's country club, Dexter & Miguel join their ladies (Rita & Sylvia) at a patio table at a restaurant next to the golf course.
Rita first raves about the massage she got at the resort's spa, but the conversation turns awkward when she mentions to Dexter that she expects him to get rid of his apartment and get a larger home for them after they're married.
prospect of losing his apartment is something that hadn't occurred to Dexter,
and he's obviously unnerved by the idea of losing his privacy and his routine
(especially considering his clandestine nocturnal habits).
Q. What is it actually in real life?
A. A restaurant next to a golf course.
Q. Where can I find it in real life?
A. This scene was next to the same golf course seen earlier in the same episode: at the Pacific Palms Resort & Spa, at 1 Industry Hills Parkway, near the La Puente / City of Industry border.
The restaurant is real, and it's name is "Red". It's patio curves around the resort's pool/lake (with a view of the mountains) and features a large fire pit. An upscale spot, the menu features American fare such as steak, chops & fish, with lighter offerings for lunch.
The resort is about 25 miles east of Los Angeles; north of the Pomona (60) Freeway, just west of N. Azuza Ave.
That's about 10 miles southwest of the Pomona's L.A. County Fairgrounds. It's also just a mile and a half north of the Puente Hills Mall, where they filmed the time-traveling scenes from "Back to the Future".
You can reach them at (626) 854-2509, or make reservations online.
Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?
A. I hoped that
when I found the golf course,
I would find the restaurant nearby. Finding the golf course wasn't easy,
but once I did, the same page
that told me its secret also mentioned the name of the restaurant. All
it took was a little more digging to find the resort's
own page about the restaurant.
