When did we see it on the show?
A. In Episode 4, of Season 7, "Run".
mob boss Isaak is looking a way to stop Miami Metro police from
shutting down his strip joints (as they try to find the killer of
detective Mike Anderson).
The real killer, Viktor,
is already dead (at the hands of Dexter), so Isaak decides to give the
police someone they can blame - so that they will close the case and
leave them alone.
The patsy he chooses is an unfortunate bartender at the Fox Hole club, by the name of Alex Dubrozny.
Isaak and his goons drop by Alex's apartment.
threatening his family back home, they force Alex to write a
suicide note confessing to the murder of Mike Anderson.
Then they make
him shoot himself in the head with the same gun Viktor used to kill Anderson.

What is it actually in real life?

A. This was shot at 5955 Barton Avenue., in a small apartment complex built back in the 1920's, which consists of five cottage-like, garden-style apartments.
It's on the north side of Barton, just east of El Centro Ave.
That's just west of Hollywood Forever, which is where they shot the cemetery scenes with Speltzer.
And it's just a few blocks south of Sunset-Gower Studio, where they film Dexter.

How the heck did you figure out where it was?
A. In the early seasons, I usually had to hunt down the locations after viewing the episodes,
using clues from the various scenes. By the now, though,
I've developed a small group of fans, spies & tipsters who kept an
eye out for Dexter filming in their neighborhoods, and would let me know
in advance when something was about to film there.
Between those reports, my own personal reconnaissance around town, and a
few new resources I discovered, by the time the first episode airs, I
already know most (but not all) of the filming locations, and only
need to watch the episodes and match up the scenes with the correct
