Quinn missed work, so to try to make it up to Angel, he offers him tickets to a new strip club.
Only Angel isn't interested, and suggests that Quinn take Masuka instead.
So when we see the club, Quinn and Masuka are sitting at the bar, watching the strippers (nude, except for g-strings).
Quinn is sloppy drunk (as usual, this season), and still apparently heartbroken over Debra's refusal to marry him.
So when
Quinn spots a semi-nude stripper in a green g-string, he announces that
he is going to marry her. She laughs him off, but when he follows
her, the bouncer steps in and tells them to leave.
Masuka tries to lead Quinn out of the club, but he abruptly sits down and refuses to budge. So Masuka leaves without him.
The scene ends there, with what would seem to be a confrontation with the bouncer imminent.
Q.
What is it actually in real life?
A. A strip club.
Q.
Where can I find it in real life?
A. This is Cheetah's, a strip joint located at 4600 Hollywood Blvd, on the somewhat trashy east end of the boulevard.
It's on the south side of the street, at the southwest corner of Hollywood & Rodney Drive.
( According to recent reviews online, because of a new L.A. law, the strippers are no longer allowed
to go topless, and now wear bikini tops - which seems to go against the
whole idea of a strip club... )
Here is a photo of the club's interior, from their website:
A. In previous seasons, I've
usually had to hunt down the locations after viewing the episodes,
using clues from the various scenes. By the 6th season, though,
I'd developed a small group of fans, spies & tipsters who kept an
eye out for Dexter filming in their neighborhoods, and would let me know
in advance when something was about to film there.
Between those reports, my own personal reconnaissance around town, and a
few new resources I discovered, by the time the first episode aired, I
already knew most (but not all) of the filming locations, and only
needed to watch the episodes and match up the scenes with the correct
locations.
This group of helpful fans includes Kerry, Rick, Ellen, Susan, Jason,
Elaine, Joel, Julie, Geoff, Jeff, Jen, and others. My thanks to all of
them.
This tip came from Rick, who let me know back in August that they were filming here. (Thanks, Rick!)
