Tru sits at the northwest corner of Argyle Ave & Selma Ave, and they created the Fox Hole entrance on the 6200 block of Selma Avenue. But the sign and awning are fake, and in real life that door is just a plain side exit for Tru.
What is it supposed to be on the show?
Where is it supposed to be on the show?
When did we see it on the show?
A. In Episode 8, of Season 7, "Argentina".
Dex is parked across the street from a restaurant, and watches Isaak get out of his car and go in.
Isaak pauses to look at a police car parked nearby, before entering the restaurant.
muses that he hopes Isaak enjoys his last meal, because when Isaak gets
home to Viktor's apartment, he will be waiting for him.
While waiting, Dex gets a call from his nanny, Jamie, who is driving the kids in from Orlando.
After hanging up, Dexter starts the car and heads to Viktor's apartment.
What is it actually in real life?
Where can I find it in real life?
The fake entrance they created for the Fox Hole is actually located on the south side of the building which houses the supperclub Tru Hollywood.
The actual front entrance for Tru faces west, on Argyle Avenue (at 1600 Argyle, to be exact).
Up until now, we hadn't seen its real entrance on the show, just the fake south (Fox Hole) side. So, they took advantage of that fact and used the actual Tru entrance as the front of the restaurant that Isaak enters (while Dex is stalking him).
( In fact, look closely, and you can see the name "Tru" in the shadows, at the moment when Isaak pauses to look at the police car parked outside the restaurant. )
So, you might assume that Dexter's car would be parked right across the street, on the west side of Argyle, right?
Nope. Instead, they had his car parked right around the corner, on the south side of Selma Ave, just west of Argyle. So Dexter is looking northeast at Tru. (And yes, the club entrance is visible from that location. Actually, it makes more sense as a stalking location, since Isaak would spot him for sure if he was directly across the street.)

Q. How the heck did you figure out where it was?
A. In the early seasons, I usually had to hunt down the locations after viewing the episodes,
using clues from the various scenes. By the now, though,
I've developed a small group of fans, spies & tipsters who kept an
eye out for Dexter filming in their neighborhoods, and would let me know
in advance when something was about to film there.
Between those reports, my own personal reconnaissance around town, and a
few new resources I discovered, by the time the first episode airs, I
already know most (but not all) of the filming locations, and only
need to watch the episodes and match up the scenes with the correct
This group of helpful fans includes Rick, Ellen, Elaine, Mia, Joel, Susan, Eric, Jeff, Kerry & others. My thanks to all of
Rick was on the scene in Hollywood when they were filming this scene, with Dexter (or a good double) in the car, and got the great video footage you see above. (Thanks, Rick!)
